Hotel Carlton - Ghent

Bright and spacious room provided ample space to relax after daily explorations. Helpful recommendations from the front desk staff guided me to local highlights. Breakfast choices were extensive and delicious, including fresh pastries and cooked-to-order items. The breakfast service could improve. I faced a lengthy wait for my omelette during a busy morning. Parking was an area of confusion due to unclear reservations. Despite these issues, the hotel's proximity to the train station made it easy for day trips around Belgium.

Truly exceptional hotel with handy location on the main tram route to town, and the breakfast was savoury! Our standard queen room was new-fashioned and airy with comfortable beds. The bathroom we had included a tub and a shower and a bath. The check-in was quick and the atmosphere was elegant overall.

Free Wi-Fi in rooms was great. Luggage storage helped us explore easily.

Everything. Good price, friendly reception, practical garage in the house, comfortable beds, nice bar area, strategic location, pets allowed and free of charge . what more could you want?

Good question. After thinking about it for a long time we couldn't think of anything. Maybe one thing: that there isn't such a nice hotel in every city!

It seems like everything was very good for us, recommend it. The staff ensures you have a fun time, they are responsive and very efficient.

The location is great (a few minutes walk to the train station and tram stop to the center); nice big balcony; the young man at the reception was super nice, gave us good advice; there is an intelligent system for cheap tram tickets; water, coffee, kettle etc. in the room

The spacious Standard Triple Room provided an excellent retreat, highlighted by its comfortable bedding, which ensured a restful night. The breakfast experience included freshly prepared, tasty gluten-free options that satisfied dietary needs. Customer service, while generally attentive, occasionally fell short during busy hours.

One of the chairs in the room was a bit damaged.

The staff was very friendly and very helpful. We felt very comfortable! Breakfast was to die for. Fortunately, no hotel buffet all sorts of things, but an individual, fresh and personal breakfast. Good start into the day. We were warmly welcomed. We found it very good that the structure of the city was explained to us directly. We could also buy a ticket for the tram directly (much cheaper than at the machine at the station). EXCELLENT!

The daily complimentary glass bottle of water was a nice touch.

I experienced poor lighting in the bathroom. I found that the walls were thin, leading to disturbances from neighboring guests at inopportune times. Unfortunately, parking was frustrating. The hotel garage is quite small and hard to reserve, which adds to the stress of navigating the busy streets outside.

I was woken each night by noise from the street, either shouting or workmen making a very early start.
